A short story I have read

During my literature lesson, we learnt about a short story called "Flowers for Algernon". It is about a low IQ person called Charlie Gordon and his friend, a mouse called Algernon. They were both used as experimental materials to find out a way to increase a person's IQ. I feel that it is cruel thing to do as in the story, it ended with Algernon's death and Charlie lost his memory.
The story was very sad as when Charlie was enjoying the temporary success of the operation and having an IQ of 204, he fell in love with another character, a woman called Miss Kinninan. When Charlie lost his memory again, he did not want Miss Kinnian and his other friends sad so he left them forever. It is very saddening at the ending and i was so touched. Imagine how it feels to not being able to read something you have written. I think there is also a book of the story available. If you want to read the book, I repeat, the title is "Flowers for Algernon" written by Daniel Keyes.

AtTeNtIoN AlL PrI6 PuPiLs

This is a message to all primary 6 pupils. I would like all of you to consider putting Hwa Chong as your first choice during your Sec1 posting please. It is a good school. When you are here, you will truely feel the "Hwa Chong" spirit. I first felt it during the Sec1 orientation. I was really impressed how the whole school can unite as 1. That is how Hwa Chong can rock the National Statium during the "Track and field" championships every year. You can also choose from a wide range of EP3 in our school. If you do not know what an EP3 is, it can also called CCA in your primary schools. IF you want to know more about my school, you can read another of my post, "About my School" . Also, if you have any questions for me, simply give it as a comment for this message and leave your email address so i can contact you.

ABOUT MY SCHOOL

Hi all,
I will not reveal my full name but like to tell you more about my school and also more about my new EP3, NPCC, I will tell you what it is later. If you are not from Singapore, you may not have heard the name "Hwa Chong Institution" before, right?
Anyway, whether you have heard of it or not i will still tell about it, unless if you don't understand english of course!(lol)
It is located at Bukit timah in Singapore(If you do not know Singapore very well don't waste time reading this), it is also one of the biggest school in south-east asia. Hwa Chong is also very honoured to be one of the first schools in Singapore to have an integrated progremme, IP for short. IP allows us to have a six-year course to 'A' level instead of a 4 year one to 'O' level. It lets us to have more time to prepare the 'A' level instead of the stressed life of having only two years preparing for it. This will give us more free time to pursue what we like. Isn't that wonderful?

I just got into an EP3(enhanced pupils performance programme) toay. EP3 is an activity we go for after school. I got into the National Police Cadet Corps, NPCC for short. I have wanted to go into it since the EP3 orientation as it seems very fun. We can even get the chance to shoot a revolver! Thats what i have been deaming to do since young. NPCC is also not so busy so will not make me stress up. Whats more, the uniform is completely free of charge!
You can visit
my school website or the NPCC website for more details.

My research about a mathematician

I like to research on olden mathematicians. This is about a famous one:Archemedes. It is about how he helped the king find out a cheater who mixed silver with the gold to cheat the king.
Archimedes made two masses of the same weight as thecrown, one of gold and the other of silver.
He filled a large vessel with water to the very brim, and dropped the mass of silver into it.
The amount of water that overflowed was equal in volume to that of the silver mass sunk in the vessel.
Archimedes refilled the vessel and dropped the mass of gold into the full vessel.
Not as much water overflowed because gold is more dense than silver, so the same weight takes up less volume.
Finally, Archimedes filled the vessel again and dropped the crown itself into the water.
He found that more water overflowed for the crown than for the mass of gold of the same weight.Hence, reasoning from the fact that more water was lost in the case of the crown than in that of the gold mass, he detected the mixing of silver with the gold.
